Handling, oh boy, this is a seriously agile machine that will waste nearly all 600's nearly every where. Have got a Remus can with "road legal" baffles in, still loud at 104 db's but sounds brill. Despite the sporty pretensions I have done 430 miles in one day with no aches or pains, I have lowered the pegs (1 inch) which give a little bit more room for some one like me at 5ft 11".
Very pleased with it, totally reliable so far (tempting fate now eh?) good mpg 45 average, rear tyres last about ...

Had my Buell xb9r for year now,love verything about it..looks like nothing else on the road even now it when its 6 years old!,

All in all, the Buell Blast is the way to go for beginners and experienced. My neighbor is a police officer and he was happy on it. doing very tight donuts at less than 3 mph in front of the house.I use it to commute to work 40+ miles round trip and cut my fuel costs a lot. Instead of paying $160 a month on fuel for the car, I now spend $75 on fuel for the car and $14 on the motorcycle combined a month. I've had mine for 3 months, and have gone from zero experience to feeling really comfortable on local curves. In my mind, the Blast is the best bike to learn on without outgrowing it too quickly. My son has his eyes on mine already, so maybe I'll get a 650 to 750 next

If all your buddies ride sport bikes they will always out accelerate you cept for off the line and in corners. But a 600 will eat you on the highway. If you like having your head snapped back in your car from hard acceleration then you will love this ride! As a first ride I think its a solid option as you won't find yourself on the highway doing some high speeds before you know it.
