I've had my Dyson DC04 for near 10 years now and it just won't give up. Love it, like a faithful old friend it always brings the carpets up perfectly. Yes the handle has broken off but its had 10 years of hard slog this is hardly the end of the world. I just don't get why people are slating this vacumn. I had a miele for under year and it died on me, the customer service at miele told me to send it to them so I did only to have it returned 2 days later, unfixed and told it was beyond economical ...

We bought our DC08 some years ago now and we were astonded just how much extra it picked up. I hoovered the whole house, which had just been done with our old Henry. I couldn't believe how much it picked up from supposedly clean carpets.The bin does tend to fill up quite quickly, but I suppose this is due to the fact that it picks up so much muck.The filters do need cleaning quite regularly or the performance drops quite noticeibly.
