It was never going to totally live up to the hype and relies mainly on those of us who were in out prime at the time GNR were great to buy this album. Even Axl's infamy is lost on the younger indie generation. It's a good rock album though and should be seen as nothing more than that. I'm on my 10th listen and still not bored of it ...

Probably what Guns N Roses would've sounded like if they'd stayed together for the past 15 years. A relief to know that there is every chance that G & R may yet make another album as good as

Maybe 3 great songs on Chinese Democracy and it's good to hear Axl singing again, that has been worth the wait. The album is too clean, too industrial, too crowded and generally too over produced (i guess that's what having too much time to work on it does). Apart from the fact that Axl is singing, would anyone actally have bought this? I truthfully doubt it. The name has sold this album, altho i've a suspicion that there would be a case in court for false advertising... This is not Guns N' ...

Overall, very surprising, did not think i would enjoy this. I was a huge fan of the old stuff and thought this would ruin their legacy. However, Axl has proved me wrong. The album is not perfect but has enough here to keep me happy. No one else sound like gund and roses and never has, so their was a void in the market. The songs are epic at time, heavy at others but nearly all of them have a strong tune and are most importanty enjoyable. I just hope we do not need to wait another 15 years for ...

I couldn't stop listening again and again to Guns n Roses. His voice is amazingly as good as 17 years ago. Current generation almost forgot Axl, but he's back!
