Empire opens explosively with the title track that sticks in your mind. In this album, Kasabian stick to their excellent formula shown in their debut album, packed full of synths and good melodies. Last Trip (In Flight) shows yet another good melody and Me Plus One contains a combination of acoustic guitar and synths that make this song catchy. Kasabian, Kasabian - The first thing I thought when I heard Kasabian was "Madchester is back!" except these guys aren't from Manchester. This album is a throwback to the early-nineties with echoes of Primal Scream, the Happy Mondays, Northside and even early Verve.
