I was lucky enough to be in the Army cadets and we regularly fired these at 200 yds on the Yoxter range up on the Mendip hills in somerset. It was a heavy rifle but when you are a schoolboy it is great fun. The SLR we shot latterly was much less fun although less weildy. Also the SLR had much more cleaning to do after ...

You have to have a chance to own and shoot all the old military rifles to know just how great the Enfield really is. Most of the people I know who bad mouth the gun are nothing more than "armchair" gunners who talk to hear their small brains rattle around in their heads.

This Rifle has a really bad stigma, as I'm sure everyone has heard the horror storys of this Rifle jamming/breaking easily on operations in Iraq and Afganistan; but my friends in the Army using this reckon there's nothing wrong with it, particularly as a Target Rifle. The only universal down-side to this weapon is that if you happen to be left handed you will break your Jaw as the bullet casing will fly into your face, but regardless of that, it is a very, very pretty rifle.
