I've also wanted an LV bag since the 80's and decided to just go for it in 2006. I bought the Speedy 30 and the Groom Series (with the hotel porter) wallet. I confess: This year I ordered a fake Louis Vuitton over the Internet. Instantly I felt guilty the moment I placed my order. It's not that it is illegal in the US to buy replica designer handbags. For some illogical reason, it is only illegal to sell fakes but not to buy them for personal "novelty" use. But that is touch . Any Louis Vuitton piece with the any sort of monogram canvas is horrible, except for the luggage. Personally, I consider LV too expensive, but neither am I filthy rich; thus, I'd leave LV for them - there are other brands out there making good quality bags with more affordable prices. Seriously, buying a Speedy and then eating potato peels for the next 6 months is pathetic, and I won't even start talking about buying counterfeits!
