High admin fees.
Being charged £30 to update my address after moving (years policy was only £70).
Being charged £30 to cancel my policy- paperwork said I would receive 40% of my policy cost back if cancelled after 3 months, no refund, due to admin fee.
Receiving my proof of no claims discount with one years mysteriously missing.
Phoning customer services and being put on hold for 30 minutes (numerous times) then being redirected to the wrong department ...

Well I've noticed a lot of bad reviews for MCE I however have not had any problems. When I first phoned them up they gave the cheapest price my policy was set up within minutes. I also had to make a claim through mce towards the end of the policy a female driver pulled out in front of me as I was travelling on a main road. So following morning I phoned them up reported the incident also this is on a freephone number. I was talking to someone about my claim within seconds and it also didn't cost ...

Despite proving 'double insurance' I am being told I owe £27 and also for money through Finsure as the premium was to be paid by installments - in total £100 for 1 weeks insurance which I did not request. Will let you know what the FSA make of it all in due

My son phoned for a quote for his moped (value £500), was told £189.11, I phoned to pay and realised this was just third party, so I got a quote for TPFT for £236 so I accepted this, about 20 min after I accepted the quote I realised that I wasn't told the excess figure so I phoned to check and was told it was £500 (so I cancelled the policy).
Got a letter today telling me there is a min charge to cancel of £30 and the refund will be in the form of a credit ...

I had a motorcycle insurance policy with MCE for several years as they constantly were among the lowest prices for my slightly modified bike. However, it was only after making a claim and requesting information from them that I had to deal with customer services rather than renewals. This side of the business is very poor.
