  Extra points vouchers confusing and short dated. M & S Claimed they didn't receive the cheque in the post paying the full outstanding payment on my account which I pay without fail every month by return of post. (My post is taken into the post office) therefore they charged me an extra £28 on my statement; When I queried this they were not very helpful at all and this caused me a lot of stress and time trying to get the charges dropped, however they flatly refused.   I applied for an M&S credit card in some time ago. It's taken them four weeks to inform me that my application has been accepted and to send me a credit agreement to sign and return to them. I imagine it will be another couple of weeks before I receive the card. When I've tried to chase it they've been very unhelpful, just muttered something about having a backlog of applications. ...

  Seems like some in customer services will refuse to close my account although it ' s been at a zero balance since 11th November. They all say unable to close until next statement date - then they will automatically close in this case 5th December - what happened was 5th December came and went - didn't close my account but added 33p in charges to the zero balance and next statement date shown as 5th January - got them to remove the 33p charge - now at zero again insisted on speaking to a ...

  Exchange rate is the best we've found every time we've used them to buy dollars for trips to the US. Staff friendly, and always quick to point out that it's better to buy cash with cash. The first time, I went with my debit card, and it was pointed out to me about bank charges and where I could find a free cash machine if I wanted to save on charges (I did!).
