I applied online 10 days ago for a secured personal flexible loan at 9.9%. They sent me an email on the day of my application, saying I would be contacted within 48 hours with a decision. Since then I have not heard from them. Everytime I call customer services, they say, "Sorry sir, your application is still with the underwriters, and there is no possible way of chasing it up with ...

Found many places for taking money OUT of my Instant Saver but nowhere for putting money IN. Eventually found one place mentioning online banking but could not find it anywhere. Dreadful.

Found the customer services very helpful and I waited no longer than I have with anyone else (about 6 minutes) in the queue. Was expecting delays due to the massive amount of accounts being opened on daily basis due to banks going down, but was very surprised. Staff at my local branch very well trained in answering all the queries that I had.
Great rate of interest, backed by up to 80,000 or 100,000 ...

3 year Post Office growth bond matured on 30 September 2008. This is joint name with my husband. He died on 15 September 2008, so contacted the Post Office with letter of intent and death certificate etc. at the end of September. Post Office returned all the relevant documents to me together with pin number so that I could access my bond details over the telephone. This is the only cash I have. My husband was disabled and we have no savings apart from this. I have an outstanding funeral expense ...
