I had a loan that I paid off early. When I came to work out the interest, it didn't tally with theirs. I spent a year trying to get them to explain. First of all they told me they didn't produce statements. Then they told me because it had been paid off they couldn't print it off their computer. Then they couldn't find the loan agreement - and then, get this, not only could the branch person in charge of loans, but even the branch manager couldn't tell me how the loan interest was worked out. ...

Item: Royal Bank of Scotland
I opened a basic Bank of Scotland Key Account for emergencies and at first all was well. The online application was a breeze and the card showed up in no time. Then the troubles started, my pin never arrived so far I have both rung and visited a branch for a reissue (4 months later still nothing) this has rendered me unable to withdraw or transfer cash (you need your pin to use the card reader) so I ended up buying something online just to get at my money. RBS is number one bank of the world as per bankers almanac, you expectation of customer services goes high with the bank ranking. But you fell regret that the customer serive is one of the lowest/bad even as compare of any ordinary bank.
Need to improve their customer services, real number one status is in service not in ...

Item: Royal Bank of Scotland Student Royalties Account
I have to say I have never had a problem with my RBS student account. In my first year of university, I had no problems, no hidden charges, and no hassle in the branches (telephone was a bit funny but I feel it's a pointless method of banking anyway). I didn't open my overdraft this year as I had no need to. On one stupid occasion, I overdrew by £10 by mistake. And they charged me £30.
