If you’re planning on buying a car it is crucial to take advantage of car and vehicle literature including books and magazines. They can provide useful information about the car models you’re considering, including common faults, fuel economy comparisons, average service costs, depreciation and so on.

Another essential, especially for older cars is a vehicle manual, for example those published by Haynes. They offer tips and advice about specific car models as well as instructions for basic maintenance work.
